... i'm beginning to feel like i'm living in a 80 year-old newsreel

in the fall of 2004 i put together this mix to help deal with the melancholy and helplessness i was feeling. i called it:

Today I'm going to a peace march. It's being held in the memory of a young man named Lawrence ("Larry") King, who was shot in the head inside the classroom at his junior high this week by his classmate. The shooter - who just turned 14 - is being held on murder/hate crime charges and will be tried as an adult. Why was Larry shot in the head? Evidently because he was gay, and very open about it.

This is kinda like a chain letter. You don't want to do it, but you feel compelled (thanks, rhiwena)...

Shaunna's facts:

1. My parents picked my name when they heard it on TV. It belonged to some tennis pro's fiance. They looked up the spelling in the sports page the next day.

2. I have a rep for being "cool" with my nephews and nieces, but my own kids think they're full of shit.

3. I swear. Sometimes.

4. My dog is spoiled, but my kids weren't.

5. I like to drive 80 mph on the open highway with the stereo blasting.

6. I once went almost 8 years without TV. At the time I also baked everything from scratch (including daily bread), shopped co-op and didn't wear make-up. I was insane.

7. My mind is filled with useless trivia.

8. I was trained from a very young age not to react visably if I see someone who is recognizably famous. I still don't - it doesn't matter to me, anyway.

so that makes me unhappy, too.

i will be very unhappy if everyone leaves. especially to flickr.

i do not pay any attention to the main board here, i do not care about celebrity bullshit, they are just people.  i pay even less attention to emo whining.

i have found if buzznet is a "be right back" on firefox it will come up w/safari.  i don't have time to try to figure that out.

yesterday was the first in a very long time that i could not comment.  that pissed me off, but i did not sign on today with the intent to quit.

i'm afraid that i don't usually have the other problems, but that may be because i have high speed access.
